  • Development stages of technological business: challenges and points of growth at each stage
  • Understanding of C-roles in a startup, how to set up communication and expectations (CEO, CMO, CBDO, CPO)
  • Scope and responsibilities of a technical leader, depending on the size and maturity of the company, and options for career development
  • Allocation of shares in the team, motivation (option pool, share sizes)
Block 2. Fundamentals of the product approach and development
  • Discovering the basics of Product Management: why it is useful and how to set up a Product team
  • How to define a North Star Metric, funnel KPIs with Lean Analytics and OKRs that serve as an input for your team
  • How to discover problems and generate ideas to solve them through Continuous Discovery
  • How to ideate solutions, prioritize and test them
  • Case study: designing a stack of metrics for a real startup, identifying OKRs
Block 3. People management and professional development of engineering managers and team leads
  • How to hire right people for the organization and how to develop a fair compensation system depending on the grade and performance
  • Ways of working for an organization, how it affects teams performance
  • How to build professional relationships with your directs, 1-1s, development and stay conversation. How to keep motivation high and attrition risk low. How to organize feedback rounds, what is a good feedback and how to get best out of it
  • Change management: how to implement new processes in the team, how to explain it
  • Conflict Management: structure and types of conflicts, stages of conflict development, conflict resolution strategies, conflict prevention: techniques of conflict-free communication
  • Firing people: rookie mistakes, recommendations for exit interviews, giving feedback, a go-to plan for a conversation with a subordinate

  • Correct estimation of resources for preparation and implementation of new projects: portfolio management, operational plans, etc.
